Coffee (Coffea arabica) – Essential Oil

As a plant, Coffee originated from the province of Kaffa in Ethopia. A number of reports and legends surround its first use but the history of coffee appears to date back to the 15th century, and possibly earlier. The earliest substantiated evidence of either coffee drinking or knowledge of the coffee tree is from the early 15th century, in the Sufi monasteries of Yemen and then spreading to Mecca and Cairo. 

Coffee essential oil has 0.5%-1.5% caffeine. The amount of caffeine that would enter the body from using one drop of oil with 1% caffeine (0.04mg of caffeine) is 2500 times less than the average cup of coffee. This oil is astringent, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, pain relieving and may help ease indigestion, gas and nausea. It also helps to elevate your mood when it is too late in the day for a cup of coffee.

Blends well with: Cocoa, Vanilla, Bergamot, Orange, Frankincense, Cinnamon, and Clove.

How to use: 

• For digestive issues, dilute 5 drops of essential oil into 1 teaspoon Castor oil and rub onto the belly in clockwise motion. 
• Add 3 drops of Coffee, 2 drops of Cocoa and one drop of Vanilla to your diffuser and your home will smell like your favourite coffee shop!
