Purifying combination of Gaia Garden Bentonite Clay and our Lavender hydrosol make for a fresh complexion.

Bentonite Clay is a mineral rich clay with a natural ability to absorb excess, which makes it a useful ingredient for cleansing and absorbing toxins and dirt, especially as a face mask to draw out impurities from the skin.

Found in volcanic ash, bentonite clay is a mineral rich aluminum silicate that has been used for centuries to detoxify and heal the skin and body. An interesting fact about Bentonite Clay is that it has a negative charge, causing it to attract positively charged toxins away from the body / skin, making it deal for naturally removing toxins away.  The clay is also alkalizing and  with a pH level of 8.7 – 9.8.

With calming lavender, this mask cleanses and balances the skin, revitalizing the complexion.

Bentonite Clay Purifying Mask – for all skin types

One application

1 tablespoon Gaia Garden Bentonite Clay

1 tablespoon Gaia Garden Vegetable Glycerin

1 tsp Gaia Garden Lavender Hydrosol

How to Make

Place Bentonite Clay, vegetable glycerin and hydrosol in a bowl. Make sure you do not use a metal utensil or bowl due to the negative charge of the clay making it less effective. Use a wooden utensil and mix into a paste. The paste should be thick enough to spread or brush on your skin evenly. If the mixture is too runny, add more clay.

Use immediately to ensure the mixture does not dry out.

Apply the mask to freshly cleaned skin with your clean fingertips, avoid the eye area. Leave on for 10 minutes without allowing it to completely dry. If it starts to dry mist some of the lavender hydrosol to refresh.

Remove gently with warm water and pat skin dry with a clean towel
