Marjoram Sweet (Origanum marjorana) – Essential Oil

Originating from the Mediterranean and North Africa, marjoram spread far and wide reaching Egypt around 2000 BC, according to early records. The Egyptians dedicated marjoram to the god of the underworld, Osiris, and it was used as a funerary herb as well as to produce unguents, medicines and even love potions. The aroma of Sweet Marjoram Essential oil is warm, spicy, strong, sweet, herbal.

Marjoram oil has a warming action and calms emotions, relieves anxiety and stress and helps to calm restless people. It has muscle relaxant properties and is useful for rheumatic pain. Marjoram is capable of assisting mood lifting and its strength in fighting chest-congestion and bacteria makes it an incredible essential oil. Marjoram has the ability to calm the mind and can strengthen and relax as it tonifies and circulates Qi or Chi energy. It is especially useful in conditions where tiredness alternates with tension.

Blends well with: Helichrysum, Lavender, Rosemary, Bergamot, Chamomile, Tea Tree and Eucalyptus. 

How to use: 

• Use a few drops in the bottom of the shower for inhalation purposes while showering.
• For a calming room spray you can blend sweet marjoram and helichrysum essential oils with lavender essential oil for notes of green herbs and honey.
• Muscle spasms in the limbs, neck or back can be relieved by massaging with the diluted oil, while respiratory spasms such as cough can be eased via inhalation.
• Marjoram oil can also help relieve convulsions, cramps, and intestinal spasms.
