Yerba Mate is the dried leaf and stem of a South American rainforest holly and is the national beverage of Paraguay. The term Mate is a Guarani Indian word for gourd, referring to the hollowed out gourds once used to hold the tea.
The tea is sometimes called Paraguay tea. The Guarani People of Paraguay and Argentina have been brewing this beverage for centuries and claim that it can boost energy levels and intelligence as well as providing all the nutrients needed for a healthy life. Yerba Mate has the strength of coffee with the health benefits of tea and the satisfaction of chocolate, all in one drink.
Yerba Mate is said to contain 24 vitamins and minerals, 15 amino acids and many antioxidants.If you want to quit drinking coffee this is a great alternative.

How to use:
Add 1 teaspoon of Yerba Mate to one cup of boiling water. Allow to steep for 3 to 5 minutes or until desired strength is reached. It can also be made in a coffee press or espresso maker.
