Spring Reset: A Natural Body Detox

Spring Reset: A Natural Body Detox

The Body’s Seasonal Shift

As we move from winter into spring, our bodies naturally begin to change. During the colder, darker months we tend to eat heavier foods, move less, and spend more time indoors. With reduced sunlight, the body produces more melatonin, which supports rest but can also leave us feeling slower and less energized.

When the days grow longer and temperatures rise, that pattern shifts.

We naturally feel more motivated to move. We crave lighter meals instead of rich comfort foods. We drink more water. We sweat more. This seasonal transition supports the body’s natural detoxification systems — especially the liver, kidneys, lymphatic system, skin, and digestive tract.

In traditional Ayurvedic understanding, winter is associated with an accumulation of kapha — heaviness, dampness, and stagnation. Spring warmth helps mobilize that buildup, which is why this is traditionally the best season to support gentle cleansing.

Signs You May Need Extra Support

The body detoxifies every day. But after winter, some people notice signs that their elimination pathways are a little sluggish:

  • Fatigue or brain fog
  • Bloating or slow digestion
  • Skin breakouts or rashes
  • Water retention
  • Lingering sinus congestion

These can be signals that the liver, kidneys, lymphatic system, or gut could use additional support.

The goal isn’t extreme detoxing. It’s restoring flow.

The Organs of Natural Detoxification

Our bodies are designed to eliminate waste through several key systems:

  • Liver – Filters toxins from the bloodstream and prepares them for removal.
  • Kidneys – Filter blood and eliminate waste through urine.
  • Colon – Removes solid waste and prevents toxin reabsorption.
  • Skin – Releases waste through sweat.
  • Lungs – Eliminate gaseous waste and airborne pollutants.
  • Lymphatic System – Moves cellular waste from tissues toward elimination.

When these systems are supported, energy improves, digestion becomes smoother, and skin often clears.

Our Spring Cleanse Tea Blend

This is our Spring Cleanse Tea Blend — a traditional combination of herbs that makes a gentle and supportive tea to assist the body’s natural cleansing processes through the lymphatic system, kidneys, liver, blood, and tissues.

This formula does not force detoxification. Instead, it encourages steady elimination and supports the organs that already do this work every day.

Here’s how each herb contributes:

Nettle Leaf

A mineral-rich spring tonic and mild diuretic. It increases urination to help flush metabolic waste through the kidneys and supports bile flow for liver function.

Burdock Root

Traditionally used as a liver tonic and blood cleanser. As a bitter herb, it stimulates bile production and supports waste removal.

Licorice Root

Supports liver protection, stimulates bile flow, and soothes the digestive tract.

Fennel Seed

A gentle digestive herb that reduces bloating, stimulates digestive enzymes, and mildly supports kidney elimination.

Oregon grape Root

A strong bitter that stimulates bile production, supports liver detoxification, and reduces stagnation in the liver and gallbladder.

Red clover Blossom

Supports lymphatic drainage and gentle cleansing of the blood.

Cleavers Herb

A classic lymphatic herb that helps move stagnant fluids, reduce swelling, and support urinary elimination.

Dandelion Leaf

A potassium-rich diuretic that increases urine output without depleting minerals, while also supporting bile flow.

Dandelion Root

Supports liver function, bile production, and helps relieve congestion in the liver and gallbladder.

Peppermint Leaf

Relaxes the digestive tract, reduces gas and bloating, and gently stimulates bile flow.

Simple Ways to Support a Spring Cleanse

You don’t need an extreme protocol. Small daily habits make a difference:

  • Move your body regularly to stimulate lymphatic flow.
  • Dry brush before showering to encourage circulation.
  • Drink plenty of water to support kidney function.
  • Start the day with warm water, lemon, and ginger.
  • Eat lighter meals with bitter greens like kale, arugula, dandelion, asparagus, and sprouts.
  • Reduce heavy, oily, sugary, and dairy-rich foods for a few weeks.

Most importantly, be consistent.

Spring is a natural reset. When we align with the season — lighter foods, more movement, supportive herbs — the body often responds with better energy, clearer skin, improved digestion, and an overall sense of feeling lighter.

Gentle support goes a long way.
