Soothe, Cool & Hydrate: Herbal Support for Warm Days
When the summer sun gets real hot and the air turns thick, it’s common to feel a little wilted. Our bodies often struggle to keep up with the heat, which shows up as that heavy, puffy feeling, a short temper, or simply feeling drained by mid-afternoon.
When we start feeling that way, our first instinct is usually to chug ice water. But from a traditional Ayurvedic perspective, forcing freezing water into an overheated stomach shocks your system and dampens your "digestive fire." It forces your body to spend extra energy just warming the water up, which can slow down digestion and leave you feeling bogged down rather than refreshed. That is exactly why we gathered together at the shop and put our heads together to craft Cool, Soothe & Hydrate. We wanted to build a blend using plants that traditional herbal systems have turned to for generations to help manage moisture, vent internal heat, and restore a sense of balance from the inside out.

Cool, Soothe & Hydrate is a refreshing herbal blend crafted to hydrate, nourish, and gently cool and soothe body and mind. Naturally rich in plant-based minerals and phytonutrients, this formula supports everyday replenishment and hydration, helping the body stay cool, calm, and nourished. It features a thoughtfully selected combination of herbs and flowers traditionally used to support hydration and gentle inner balance.
Why Herbal Teas Are More Than Just Water
While plain water is great for a quick cool-down, it often lacks the mineral structure we lose through summer perspiration. When we steep herbs like nettle, rosehip, and hibiscus, we create a nourishing infusion that delivers valuable plant compounds and trace minerals. Herbalists have long viewed these traditional infusions as a gentle, deeply absorbable way to feed the body and support our natural hydration processes in a way plain water can't do alone. It’s a simple, grounded ritual that invites a moment of quiet restoration during the long, slow days of the season.
The Herbs Behind the Blend
Nettle Leaf: A mineral-rich staple, nettle is traditionally used to support vitality and maintain fluid balance when the weather gets muggy. It acts as a gentle way to encourage the body to shift stagnant water, helping us feel lighter and more comfortable.
Marshmallow Root: If the summer heat leaves you feeling dry, marshmallow is our go-to. This root is famous for its rich mucilage—a cooling, slippery plant gel that herbalists have used for ages to coat and comfort internal tissues, adding a juicy, moistening quality to this blend.
Chrysanthemum Flower: In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), this is a classic cooling flower used to dispel "excess heat." It’s our favorite traditional way to help the body vent trapped warmth and restore a sense of calm.
Rose Petals: Rose is a beautiful ally for when the world feels overstimulated. Energetically, it is cooling and astringent, traditionally used to tone tissues and soothe a hot, sluggish digestive tract while settling an anxious mind.
Brahmi (Bacopa): A water-loving Ayurvedic herb, Brahmi is a nurturing tonic for the nervous system. It brings a grounded, cooling presence that helps steady an overstimulated system, keeping us focused and clear-headed.
Hibiscus: With its sharp, refreshing tartness, hibiscus is packed with vitamin C and organic acids. It is traditionally relied upon to encourage healthy circulation and keep fluids moving so we don't feel bogged down by humidity.
Rosehip: Energetically sweet and cooling, rosehips are a classic choice for recovery. When brewed, they leave a light, protective, and hydrating layer that comforts the stomach and keeps our baseline resilience high.
Lemongrass: Trusted as a "refrigerant" herb, lemongrass helps the body regulate its temperature. Its crisp citrus oils are traditionally used to wake up a heat-exhausted appetite and ease tension in the gut.
Coriander Seed: In traditional practice, coriander is notable because it is one of the few spices defined as genuinely cooling to the system. It is relied upon to help soothe internal heat and bring a refreshing, balanced temperature back to the body.
Motherwort: A comforting balm for times of stress or tension. When high temperatures leave us feeling flushed or jittery, herbalists reach for motherwort as a grounding anchor to help clear away stagnant energy.

Making Yourself a C
up
We blended this tea to be a simple, refreshing drink for hot days. Whether you like it steaming hot in the morning or poured over a tall glass of ice in the afternoon, it's just a really nice way to take a little break and stay comfortable when the weather gets warm.
How to Brew It:
- Put 1 teaspoon of the blend into a cup of freshly boiled water.
- Put a lid or a saucer over your mug and let it steep for 15 minutes. (Don't skip the lid! It keeps those good, traditional aromatic oils from escaping in the steam).
- Sip it warm, or pop it in the fridge to chill over ice for a deeply refreshing, thirst-quenching drink.
Here’s to keeping our cool, staying grounded, and looking after each other all season long.
With warmth,
The Ladies at the Store & Your Herbalist Team
