Liver Support

The liver is the largest internal organ of the body, and it is located in the upper right abdominal cavity. It functions as the chemical factory of the body. The liver stores vitamins and nutrients, makes and regulates necessary chemicals, breaks down harmful substances and cleans the blood. The liver also breaks down toxins before they are transported out of the body. If the liver is not functioning at peak levels, toxins can build up and cause liver problems. Symptoms of toxin build up include headaches and nausea. The liver is also the store house for glycogen, which is converted into glucose (blood sugar) when needed. If not treated, liver problems can result in hepatitis, a contagious disease that causes inflammation of the liver. The liver can also be affected due to alcoholism.
