Edema, also known as water retention or dropsy, is swelling associated with the accumulation of fluid in spaces between the soft tissues of the body (beneath the skin) frequently felt on the fingers, abdomen, breast and ankles. Edema can affect all parts of the body, but it is seen most commonly in the face, neck, arms, feet, ankles and legs. Drinking tea made from one or more loose dried herbs with diuretic properties will significantly ease fluid retention without the side-effects of synthetic products.
